Description
This course is designed to improve your English and study skills to meet the IELTS requirements for enrolment in a University undergraduate and postgraduate courses and other courses in Australia and Internationally.
Content
Usually you will
- Develop language and study skills through planning and writing essays, improving reading speed, learning how to take and organise notes, and planning and delivering short speeches and presentations.
- Develop writing skills, research skills for essay writing, text analysis skills and note-taking strategies.
- Develop skills in writing reports and essays, note-taking from written and spoken texts, understanding university lectures, research and study skills, arguments and debates.
Exam
There are no official tests. However there are institutional test to check your level.
Length
Depending on your level 5 or more weeks full-time study (usually 20-25 hours/week). We recommend 10 weeks.
Schedule
Courses starts often in line with university’s academic semesters. This allows you to progress easily in to the University’s degree programs.
Entry Requirements
EAP students need a good school and study record.
Entry requires usually IELTS score of at least 5.0 or 5.5 in all bands (TOEFL 500 or TOEFL computer test 173). You can enrol in a course even if your English has never been tested. On arrival, you will be undertaking a proficiency test. If your level is not high enough you might need to go first into a ‘General English course’ and work towards gaining entry to EAP.
