Business English Courses is designed for students who intend to improve their business communication skills.
Content
Business English courses prepare students to negotiate a diverse business world using English in the global context. It gives you the language you need to work in an international company or to conduct business with native and non-native English speakers.
The Course provides lessons which focus on useful language in realistic situations and will help build confidence in using English in areas such as telephoning, meetings, making arrangements, negotiating and networking.
Areas covered might include personal roles and teamwork; reporting results, achievement; health and safety; the office routine; business experiences; communication; marketing; corporate hospitality; business travel; business issues; buying and selling; companies, structures and systems; products and services; international business; presentations; travel and conference meetings; customer; jobs and careers.
Your teacher will usually use a multi-media approach based textbooks, magazines, TV, video, radio, CDs, the internet and DVDs. This topic-based course emphasises a wide range of communication skills, including writing emails in English as well developing an understanding of body language and cultural issues. Assessment tasks will include such techniques as videotaping students speaking.
Exam
At the end of the course you usually get a certificate that you attended this course. There are only a few courses which will end in an exam. (The exam fee needs to be paid separately.)

Length
- Depending on the institute the course can take 2-20 weeks full-time study (usually 20-25 hours/week).
- The Business English is very seldom offered for 2 weeks only.
- Usually you need to attend 5 – 10 weeks, which will start on specific dates.
- Most institutes offer the course only in block modules of 3, 5, 10 or 12 weeks, which will start in this case at specific dates.

Entry Requirements
This course is for students with intermediate to advanced English skill levels. This course is suitable for upper intermediate students with an IELTS score of 5.0-5.5.
You can enrol in a course even if your English has never been tested. On arrival, you will be undertaking a proficiency test.
If your level is not high enough you might need to go first into a ‘General English course’ and work towards gaining entry to IELTS Preparation course.
